Some Verdi, Some Donizetti

These are two of my favorite opera performances. I hope that you enjoy them.

The Rigoletto quartet (Anderson, Milnes, Pavarotti, and Quivar):

The Lucia di Lammermoor sextet (Fleming, Fu, Giordani, Pavarotti, Plishka, and Zajick):

  1. I like the Lucia di Lammermoor sextet the best, although I think I'd enjoy it more if I knew what they were saying :) Pavarotti has an amazing voice. He makes it seem effortless and has the most powerful and beautiful voice, where the others seem to strain more and don't have that rich quality to their voices. Thanks for sharing these. :)

  2. I'm glad that you liked the performances. Like all music, opera can be an acquired taste, and that was certainly true for me when it came to Verdi and Donizetti. And yes, Pavarotti was blessed with a very strong voice. I miss the big guy. He was great.
