Ad Fontes: Princeton Theological Seminary Reads Calvin

In 2010, a group of professors and pastors decided to read the 1541 edition of Calvin's Institutes. That same year, Princeton Theological Seminary created a website for the group. The website is called "Ad Fontes", and it contains a number of resources for the study of the 1541 edition of the Institutes and Reformed theology. One resource is a series of short talks that touch on some of the central theological issues addressed by the Institutes. These talks are a good resource for anyone who is interested in Calvin or the Reformed tradition. Some of the talks presuppose a basic familiarity with Reformation thinkers such as Luther, Melanchthon, Zwingli, and Bucer, but even those who lack such a background should find much in the talks that is accessible. Personally, I found the talks on prayer and the sacraments to be rather helpful. The website can be found here, and the 1541 edition of the Institutes can be found here. The talks can also be downloaded through iTunes.
