I just heard a terrific sermon by David Calhoun that I would like to share. In case you don't know, David Calhoun is an emeritus professor of church history and theology at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. (CTS is the official seminary of the Presbyterian Church in America, and Calhoun's sermon was delivered as the commencement speech for the CTS graduating class of 2012.) Calhoun is the genuine article. He knows the Bible backwards and forwards, and he knows enough about church history and theology to fill Michigan Stadium. More importantly, he has a deep love for Jesus, one that is clearly evidenced in his lectures and sermons. I have had the fortune to hear many good preachers in my day, but there is something special about Calhoun. Here, listen for yourself:
This sermon was delivered to graduating seminarians, but it applies to all Christian believers.
I have learned a lot about Jesus, Christian discipleship, and the Bible from Calhoun the last few years. And I'm learning from him still.
"See what the 'therefore' is there for" :) Thanks, Leslie.
